Catorce, Benijofar
![]() We are the proud owners of Catorce in Benijofar. We opened our first business in July 2004, we believe our bar is Unique in that it has remained owned and run by the same people for all of this time, which means, that our service and food quality remains constant, we are also unique as we do not have a TV showing Football and we DON´T do Karaoke. Our comfortable bar/restaurant serves well prepared fresh food at affordable prices starting with breakfast from 10am, Menu of the day from 11:30am and evening meals from 5PM. Due to popular demand, we have re-introduced our specials with a great selection of value meals at JUST 5 Euros each, ideal for early dinners and budget conscious families.Sundays are special at Catorce, the bar opens at 12 Noon with the popular Sunday carvary lunch served between 12:30 and 4PM and starting at just 11.00 Euros it is a bargain, BOOKING essential. Occasional entertainment is provided by top class entertainers.
Born in Nottinghamshire England After leaving school, I studied at the Mansfield Catering College before joining the Trust House Forte group where I learnt my trade working in many different fields of catering. Although I left the catering trade for a while, I always felt more at home working in the hospitality industry. From the age of 17 I have always worked either full time or part time in both restaurants and bars and even spent a few years DJ´ ing in a popular local club. After meeting my now long term partner, Paul & I decided to move to Spain and launch our first business venture - this being the now popular Bar Catorce. I openly admit that I would not have had the determination to move to Spain if it was not for Paul and our combined wish to escape the rat race of the UK (although I think that the European rat race can be just as frustrating). About Paul Born in South Yorkshire. From leaving school, I obtained employment in the legal profession. Before moving to Spain I headed a sub division within the costs department dealing with multi-party litigation. I decided that there must be more to life than preparing bills and attending court arguing over what I would now consider trivial matters. I worked part time in the hospitality industry within the bar that Martyn was the DJ. This was a busy club where it could be 4 deep at the bar. After spending time in Spain, Martyn & I decided that we either made the jump now or it would never happen. We gave ourselves 1 year to make the move. Luckily everything was in our favor and we managed to have Bar Catorce up and running just within the 12 month period. Although you should never say never, we would not move back to the UK. Life can be just as tough here in Spain but we would not give up what we have now without a fight.
