An organisation covering La Romana, The Hondon's and Aspe.
We are run by a small number of unpaid volunteers whose sole reason for giving their time is a concern for animals. Funding is gained from events, collection tins and donations from individuals and there is no connection to any other organistion or official body.

Our aims:
.... to help lost/abandoned animals
.... provide medical treatment for those animals when required
.... foster those animals until permanent homes can be found
.... when homes cannot be found ensure they are taken to a responsible and humane shelter for re-homing

We have several animals desperately needing a new home and new start.

Action 4 Animals is a non-profit making voluntary organisation and aims to offer help and advice and seek foster or permanent homes for abandoned, unwanted and maltreated animals in and around the Aspe, La Romana and Hondon areas.

Our volunteers will help pick up animals reported where possible and take them to our vets in Novelda for an initial check and health report. We will always check for a microchip and after this the animal will be checked for disease and health issues.

Wherever possible we seek to put the animals in temporary care until through advertising, promotions and word of mouth we find a permanent home for the animal.

Where we cannot find a foster bed or permanent home we seek to take the animal to a responsible and humane shelter for re-homing.

We are unable to pick up animals being maltreated or living in poor conditions when they are on private property. The law in Spain says that if the animal has access to food and water and shelter there is no law being broken. Where these things are not apparent the Guardia Civil can be called. You can also seek to Denounce the owners of the animal but we are not able to trespass in order to get the animal. One last thing you can try is to offer to buy the animal from the owner although a desperate measure it is sometimes the only way to remove it from awful conditions.

We are desperate for more funds all the time there are many ways you can give:

1) Sponsor an animal for as little as 2 euros a week

2) Make a one off or regular personal donation

3) Give in one of the charity tins

4) Come and have fun at one of our yearly events and in doing so you are supporting the animals

5) Donate items for sale at the auctions on Wednesday in Barbarroja and Sundays in Hondon de las Frailos

If you cannot give any money no problem maybe you can give some time? We are desperate for:

1) Foster homes

2) Permanent homes

3) Committee members to assist with the many tasks involved in helping the animals
